STFC SHE policies
STFC’s SHE policies provide the framework for managing health, safety, and environmental risks across all facilities and operations, aligned with UKRI policies and tailored to STFC site hazards. They underpin our management arrangements, governance, and operational procedures, ensuring safety, environmental responsibility, and compliance remain central to everything we do.
STFC Environment Policy
The STFC’s Environment Policy is presently under review following the launch of the UKRI Environmental Sustainability Policy in April 2020. SHE Group’s Environmental focus is now on Environmental Regulatory compliance. STFC has established a dedicated Environmental Sustainability Team, Environmental Sustainability Programme and STFC Environment Sustainability Action Plan.
“Health and Safety has to remain at the heart of everything we do in the delivery of our world-class science and research programme. Whilst our health and safety record is good, we must never take this for granted. We are all responsible for our own health and safety and that of our colleagues. Maintaining our excellent record for safety and preventing work-related ill health will continue to be the highest priority for STFC”
Michele Dougherty, Executive Chair, Science and Technology Facilities Council
